Scaling AUM from ₦45BN to ₦90BN
Four years across two distinct stints — first as a senior backend engineer launching the Savings product, then returning as Engineering Manager to lead infrastructure, hiring, and the group-wide Go adoption.

The platform
I-Invest is a regulated investment and wealth management platform within the Parthian Partners Group, operating across fixed income, savings, mutual funds, and digital investment products. My time there spanned two distinct chapters.
Chapter one — Senior Engineer (2021–2024)
Launching core products
- Led end-to-end design and development of the Savings Product on the i-invest mobile app, driving architecture, RESTful APIs, messaging, and customer-feedback systems. Innovative campaigns lifted AUM by 10% in the first quarter of launch.
- Launched the Sterling virtual account feature, reducing wallet top-up issues by 50% in the first three months. Managed third-party API integration for real-time account services.
- Developed the integration layer for multiple payment gateways handling user card payments.
- Designed and led the launch of the Mutual Funds feature, projected to drive substantial revenue growth.
Building the engineering culture
- Launched the internship pipeline for the tech team — mentored three graduate trainees, one of whom became a product manager on the team. The program was adopted company-wide.
- Led postmortem meetings and a monthly Learn-Day cadence.
- Championed bi-monthly design discussions and SOLID, DRY, and YAGNI as living principles, not just acronyms.
Chapter two — Engineering Manager (Sept 2024 – Feb 2025)
Leading the group
- Led initiatives to grow Assets Under Management from ₦45BN to ₦90BN through platform reliability improvements, product scalability, and data-driven engagement.
- Led the deployment of the Mutual Funds feature, designed to scale customer investment capabilities — currently in controlled pilot with strong commercial outlook.
- Led adoption of Golang across the group, modernizing the engineering stack.
- Built and governed data pipelines and analytics platforms supporting business intelligence, regulatory reporting, and executive decision-making.
People and stakeholders
- Mentored and supported engineers and engineering operations, including talent development, hiring, and infrastructure across the group.
- Managed stakeholders, cross-team collaborations, partnerships, and integrations.
- Championed platform setup for the group's Microfinance & Pensions arm, acting as key interface across product, compliance, and operations.
- Drove AI and ML initiatives, including a deployed customer-service chatbot.
"Doubling AUM isn't an engineering metric on paper — but every percent of it shows up as latency, reliability, and the quality of decisions the team is making at 6pm on a Friday."
