CTO · ex-Microsoft

I build systems that have to work when the demo is over — fintech, data, and AI at real scale.

Based in Lagos. I've shipped at Microsoft, Nigerian banks, US media and logistics clients, and industrial AI — and I currently lead engineering as CTO. A few of the projects worth reading properly are below.

2026 — Present Engineer · James Chase → Attercop

The 24/7 Digital Analyst

Building Pangolin AI for Attercop: customers ask questions over proprietary research and get streamed answers with citations. I own the hard parts — auth across Sitefinity and VIP, the indexing pipeline, and the LangGraph orchestrator that ties retrieval, SQL tools, and the UI together.

2025 — Present Senior Consultant · James Chase → Digital Composite

Privacy law search across 127 jurisdictions

For Digital Composite, a compliance knowledge base lawyers and analysts query in real time — not a prototype. Built the RAG stack end to end, cut vector search latency roughly in half, and ran Go services with a 99.99% availability target.

2024 — 2025 Senior Engineer (Consultant) · Siemens Energy

Industrial alerts that use history, not just thresholds

At Siemens Energy, sensor telemetry for partial discharge and gas density — thousands of readings, easy to drown operators in noise. Shipped agentic and RAG-based tooling so alerts could reason over past patterns, not only the latest spike.

2021 — 2025 Senior Engineer → Engineering Manager · I-Invest

₦45BN to ₦90BN in assets under management

Two stints at I-Invest (Parthian Partners): first as senior engineer launching Savings, then as engineering manager — infrastructure, hiring, and pushing Go adoption across the group while AUM doubled.

2022 — 2025 SDE II · Microsoft

Windows sustainability at a billion devices

On Microsoft's Sustainability and Reporting Intelligence team — pipelines and VP-level Power BI over battery and energy telemetry across the Windows and Surface install base, feeding the company's 2030 carbon-neutral reporting.

2023 — 2024 Lead Consultant Engineer · NewsCorp

GenAI inside the Wall Street Journal

Lead consultant at NewsCorp: Python and Go APIs for document understanding and RAG at WSJ — benchmarked Falcon, LLaMA, and others for production, and ran an early screen-reader experiment to improve article accessibility.

2023 Software Engineer · Andela

Case files lawyers could query in plain English

Through Andela, embedded with Morgan & Morgan — a chatbot over case documents wired to Docrio, Salesforce, and S3, with vector retrieval so answers stayed grounded in the firm's own files.

2021 — 2023 Platform Engineer (Consultant) · Bellhop

Booking APIs for a US logistics platform

Platform engineer at Bellhop — Go and Python services on SQS/SNS for B2B booking, GraphQL between partners and the core system. Back-office efficiency improved about 25% over the engagement.

2020 — 2022 Senior Software Engineer · Stanbic IBTC

One sign-on across Stanbic's wealth businesses

SSO middleware at Stanbic IBTC unifying Insurance, Pensions, and Asset Management — regulated SDLC, security in the room, Strategy-pattern entity resolution. Led the wealth side of the Super App push; Beyond Excellence Award, 2020.

2020 — 2021 Senior Software Engineer · Leatherback

Notifications and PINs for a UK fintech launch

At Leatherback, owned the notifications service (RabbitMQ, SendGrid) and transaction APIs through v1 pilot — engagement up 35%; became the person other teams asked when anything touched messaging or security.

2017 — 2019 Software Engineer → Senior · IQ-Systems Solutions

Lagos and Ogun State government systems

Early career at IQ-Systems: Lagos e-CofO with about 65% of the process automated, Ogun's employee information system, and KYS visitor management — where I learned that shipping means satisfying auditors and civil servants, not just passing tests.

Group CTO · Parthian Partners Limited Based in Lagos, Nigeria Previously Stanbic IBTC, Leatherback, Andela, BellHop, News Corp, Microsoft, James Chase Stack Fintech, infrastructure, AI engineering, LLMs, Golang, Python, C#, JavaScript Outside work Long walks, bad coffee, good books

Most of my work sits where product meets infrastructure — banks, Windows telemetry, analyst Q&A, industrial sensors. I like owning the whole path from sketch to something people can run at 3am without calling you.

I've been an IC and a manager. At Microsoft I built data systems measured in billions of devices; in Nigerian fintech I helped double assets under management; lately it's been RAG and agents — with the boring bits (auth, indexing, evals) treated as first-class, not afterthoughts.

These days I'm CTO at Artech Future Technologies and Group CTO at Parthian Partners. I still write code when that's the fastest way to unblock the team.
